Why we built it
Every front-end project eventually needs custom icons. Designers export SVG files, and developers spend time renaming attributes, removing editor metadata and wrapping markup in components. Existing online converters often upload your files to a server, show ads between steps or support only React.
SvgJsx runs entirely in your browser, supports the frameworks teams actually use, and produces code that follows modern conventions, so the output can be committed without manual clean-up.
How it works
The converter includes a small XML parser written in TypeScript. It builds a tree from your SVG, applies the selected clean-up steps, such as removing metadata, rounding numbers or replacing colors with currentColor, and prints the tree as JSX, a Vue template or react-native-svg components. The same code is covered by automated tests for each option and for malformed input.
The site is statically generated and served from a CDN. There is no backend, no database and no account system.
Principles
The project follows a few simple principles:
- Privacy first: your SVG never leaves your device.
- Readable output: formatted code with only the imports you need.
- Safe by default: scripts and inline event handlers are removed.
- Available in seven languages: English, Chinese, Spanish, German, French, Japanese and Portuguese.
